Challenge:
Congressional Republicans’ budgets cut access to basic living standards—everything from jobs to education, environmental protection, housing, Meals on Wheels, food assistance, and disability programs—all to pay for tax cuts for millionaires and corporations. America needed a way to fight back.
Solution:
The Center for American progress built the Hands Off website to give people a chance to make their voices heard. Through this site Americans have the chance to weigh in on many policy decisions that would affect them the most.
Result:
In the first month of the site’s launch, thousands of stories have been delivered to Congressional offices, all with the same message: Hands Off health care, disability benefits, nutrition assistance, and other basic living standards in the upcoming congressional budgets.
